This spicy shrimp burger with wakame slaw is a great mix of flavors, with juicy shrimp patties and a tangy, cool seaweed slaw. Great for a unique and filling meal

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup wakame seaweed, rehydrated
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving
  • Sliced tomatoes, for serving

Instructions:

Pulse shrimp in a food processor until they are very small pieces

Put the chopped shrimp in a bowl and add the panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Mix the ingredients together until they are well blended

Split the mixture in half and form each half into a patty

Place the grill or grill pan over medium-low heat

Cook the shrimp patties for three to four minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked

Wet wakame seaweed, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, and sesame seeds should all be mixed in a different bowl to make the slaw

Toast the burger buns if you want to

Put a shrimp patty on the bottom half of each bun

Then add wakame slaw, lettuce leaves, and sliced tomatoes on top of each patty

Place the top half of the bun on top and serve right away
