Vegan Olive Garden Breadsticks
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
Instructions:
Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water in a small bowl
Allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes until it foams up
Put flour and salt in a large bowl and mix them together
In the middle, make a well and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil
Mix it together until a dough forms
Then, knead it on a floured surface for five minutes or until it is smooth and stretchy
Cover the dough with a towel and put it in a greased bowl
Let it rise in a warm place for an hour, or until it doubles in size
Set the oven to 425F 220C and heat it up
Roll out the dough and cut it into 12 equal pieces
Make a breadstick shape with each piece
Leave space between each breadstick on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper
Melt the vegan butter and mix it with the oregano, basil, and garlic powder in a small bowl
Put the mixture on top of the breadsticks and brush it on
It should be baked for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it turns golden brown
Enjoy while still warm
